cultivation tips

Some specific cultivation tips to achieve suitable vegetative growth followed by excellent flowering:

With little light the plants do not flower Balanced fertilisation Plant that adapts very well to cold winter climates and also thrives in frozen soil conditions.

Composition

Suitable both in monochromatic groups as well as in composition with other ornamental species such as Delphinium grandiflorum, Gaillardia aristata, Gaura lindheimeri, Phlox subulata, Scabiosa japonica. It is advisable to apply the correct planting density by arranging the plants in relation to their height and developed habit, as well as according to the desired colour effect in order to ensure suitable growth of each specimen and to obtain a proportionate whole.

Cure e Avversità

planting

In a flowerbed, an average density of 7 plants per square metre is recommended in order to allow for proper growth of each individual specimen and achieve a uniform and proportionate result. Position the seedling with the collar above the soil surface, watering after planting but without causing a water saturation condition with stagnation.

pruning

At the end of flowering, cut off the withered Inflorescences. Before vegetative regrowth, cut off the dry parts with a precise cut.

Reproduction/Propagation

Propagation is by cutting and Division of the rhizome.

Irrigation

Use rainwater, alternatively canal water, by hand watering or irrigation system. When transplanting, assist the seedling at the new site, preventing dryness as well as waterlogging. Afterwards, keep the substrate or soil slightly moist but free from stagnation that can cause collar rot. Increase the frequency of watering during the warmer period and reduce watering in winter.
