Description
An evergreen, tree-like species characterised by a woody, vertically growing trunk with a swollen base and branches that end in rosettes of linear leaves, which droop with age to form distinctive tufts.
It can survive without water for several months because the stem is rich in fibre and water.
Widely used as a houseplant, it comes in various forms, including both single-stemmed and branched varieties.
