Description

The cyclamen is a very common ornamental plant; there are around 15 known herbaceous perennial species, belonging to five different subgenera. Over the years, genetic improvement work on the cyclamen has led to the selection and, consequently, the development of numerous new characteristics relating to the size, morphology and colour tones of the flowers, as well as the plant’s growth habit. A tuberous perennial with a globular habit, it is widely appreciated for its elegant and lush blooms that rise above the foliage, bringing light and colour even during the coldest months, both outdoors and indoors, mainly in pots and planters, and often in combination with other ornamental plants.
