Green plants

Green plants are houseplants and garden ornamentals valued mainly for their foliage rather than for flowers or fruit. Their appeal lies in leaf shape, texture and colour, which gives them a lasting presence throughout the year. Most are grown indoors in pots, in living rooms, offices and bright bathrooms, while hardier kinds also suit sheltered balconies, terraces and shady garden corners. They are chosen to soften interiors, fill empty corners and bring a calm, natural feel to a space. Many also tolerate low light and irregular care well. What sets them apart from flowering plants is that their decorative value does not depend on a bloom season, so they stay attractive with little seasonal change.
